The Bean is starting to eat food now and so I thought I’d share with you how I make my baby food. I honestly started out doing it not because it’s healthier and no chemicals or science-y words in the ingredients, but because, well, I’m cheap. It’s crazy cheap to make your own and really easy. Depending on how much you’re cooking, it probably won’t take you more than a half hour (about the same amount of time it takes to try to get a baby food jar open).
I’ve been looking to be more “green”, more natural, etc. In my search, I found out about essential oils and how they’ve been used since before Biblical times for health and healing. They’ve got thousands of uses. Everything from bug bites and allergies to pain relief and combating depression and anxiety. Using oils could potentially lead to better health and healing without using drugs for everything. That sounded exactly like what I was looking for! So, welcome to the Tea Tree House!
Come on in! Let’s sit and chat about Young Living essential oils and our journeys toward a more natural and healthy lifestyle.
Your alarm goes off. It’s Monday. Again. Maybe you hit snooze. Maybe you hit snooze for the third time. I don’t know. Or maybe you’re one of those weird people that is just a morning person. If you are, I don’t think we can be friends. I mean, seriously, rise and shine? How about rise and find some coffee?
It always starts out so innocently.
It’s just a glance. But then you find your mind wandering, creating a whole scene in your head. Even just the scent throws your entire body into imagining what it would be like to be together. You tell yourself, maybe just this once. You’re not hurting anybody. The thought of letting yourself go completely is secretly exciting.
I have this idea in my head of how I want my life to be. In my dream life, I’m a great housekeeper, I cook a healthy dinner for my family every night, I’d be crafty at something, I’d be in a community where someone was pouring into me and I was investing in someone else. I’d have a gentle spirit. I’d get dressed in something that made me feel great and maybe even shower everyday. I’d entertain and welcome guests in a home on a little bit of land and raise some chickens and grow a garden. I would change the world, make it a better place. But, right now I browse Pinterest for cleaning schedules while the laundry wrinkles after being fluffed in the drier for the third time. I sometimes remember to meal plan and sometimes the plan is chicken nuggets or PB&J. I normally only get dressed if I have somewhere to be and my kids’ baths normally remind me I need a shower. I park in a parking space three spaces down from my townhouse, carrying my two kids and all the groceries to my house in the rain, grumbling and wishing for the “some day.” We’ve all been there, right? I mean, I’m not the only one.
You know that saying, “become who you are”? I kind of like it. I’m going to strive for the best me I can be. Yeah for my family’s sake, but also for me. So for now, I’ll own who I am. A flawed perfectionist trying to do the best she can, making her some day into today.
What’s your some day?
Are you a Perfectionish? I am.
Here are five ways to know if you’re a perfectionish, too: Continue reading
